I live with my husband David
and ten year old daughter
Gretchen in Concord, NH.
We share our home with two golden retrievers and have
litter of pups every couple of years. I love to be out investigating and being part of the natural world. depending on the season,I might be kayaking or x-country skiing, but if I'm outside, there is a smile on my face.
I have enjoyed my work at Concord High School for
25 years, where I am a member of the science department. I am currently teaching two courses, a introductory level biology course to freshmen and an environmental elective to
seniors. I am very interested in learning about how students learn and how instruction can help this process.
Teaching Bio III am looking forward to my work in this class. I anticipate learning new ways to interact with my students. Reading over the introductory materials I was thrilled to read a line about writing and thinking. As I read the line, I could hear myself telling my students that thinking was what we do to learn and writing is how they show me their thinking. I'm excited about having a new tool for students to show me their thinking and even perhaps for a new tool for sharing my thinking.

I'm wondering if any of my classmates have read any of March's "Educational Leadership" ? The focus of this issue is Literacy 2.0. I have found many of the articles to be very interesting. Lise Bofinger - T&L in a Networked EnviornmeI have shared some of my thinking about the articles on my blog Bof the student Blog

Hi Lisa! I was really interested in the book that you shared but I couldn't find it on Amazon or Barnes and Noble ... any thoughts on where I might find it? Thanks!
